How has Ruturaj jumped the queue

By India Today Sports Desk: India's Test and ODI squad for the West Indies tour left many baffled. Experts felt that while the inclusion of fresh talent was a welcome sign, more weight had been given to Indian Premier League than the Indian domestic tournaments.

Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar questioned the exclusion of Sarfaraz Khan in an exclusive interview with India Today and lashed out at the team management. Gavaskar

said that Sarfaraz Khan should be told to not play in the Ranji Trophy if scoring runs there did not matter. Gavaskar had also scoffed at the lack of rest for the top India stars ahead of the ODI World Cup 2023

set to be played in India between October and November. Gavaskar argued that the players needed to be mentally and physically fresh and there was no need to bring back the all-format players for the Test series.

Former India cricketer, Wasim Jaffer has spoken along the same lines and detailed three issues

the India squads for the West Indies tour. Jaffer took to Twitter to state that players like Abhimanyu Easwaran

Priyank Panchal had been doing the hard yards for India A, and yet Ruturaj Gaikwad has leapfrogged them in the Windies tour.
